Saeid Golkar is a writing fellow, associate professor of political science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and senior adviser at United Against Nuclear Iran. He earned his Ph.D. at Tehran University in 2008 and has taught at Stanford and Northwestern. His research focuses on authoritarian regimes in the Middle East; his book Captive Society (2015) studies the Basij militia and social control in Iran.
